Dad's Army

The Tamahere Dad’s Army was started in early 2013 with two aims:

1.  To provide a workforce to get jobs done around the school and community.

 2. To allow the men within the Tamahere community to get together and talk (preferably over a couple of beers!!)

Contact:  James Yearsley, Acting OC (until we can find someone better!)

Other Officers:

Allan Wickens (Caretaker and  Quartermaster)

Contact the school office on (07) 856 9238 or reception@tamahere.school.nz  for further details.

The initial few months since the formation of the Tamahere Dad’s Army have gone a long way to achieving this and the ranks continue to grow.  The pre-requisites to join Tamahere Dad’s Army are that you are a Dad with kids at the Tamahere Model Country School; are an ex-Dad of the school; a future Dad of the school or have the possibility of ever being a Dad at the school; and be over 18 ... so basically anyone except women and kids!  {Sorry ladies...this is a men’s version of your coffee mornings and we strive to earn our socialisng time through hard labour!}

I would like to thank all those who have donated their time, sweat and blood to helping out on the working bees and for donations/offers of paint (Tony Schoen), tools (Martin Dent), plant equipment (Regal Haulage) and spare building materials (Paul Hayes and Waikato Aggregates) that have made the work possible.
