Dressing of the Tree

During Week 8 we will walk down to St Stephen's Church for a ‘Dressing of the Tree’ service, which has been a tradition of Tamahere School for many years. We are in desperate need of at least 3-4 parent helpers per class. If you are available to help out, please approach your classroom teacher.

The Syndicates will be attending in two sessions due to the numbers of children, as follows:

Pirongia Syndicate - Tuesday 3rd December

Kowhai 4, Matai 11 and Nikau 1 will be leaving school at 9.00 am for the 9.30 am service.

Kauri 2 and Kawakawa 3 will be leaving school at 11.00 am for the 11:30 am service.

Maungatautari Syndicate - Wednesday 4th December

Taupiri Syndicate - Thursday 5th December.

Pukeatua Pod children will be leaving school at 9.00am for the 9.30am service.

Te Akatarere Pod children will be leaving school at 11.00am for the 11.30am service.

Taupiri Syndicate - Thursday 5th December

Rooms 9, 10, 18, 19 and Ponga-iti will be leaving school at 9.00 am for the 9.30 am service.

Rooms 5, 6, 7, 8 will be leaving school at 11.00 am for the 11:30 am service.

Your child will need to wear sensible walking shoes as we are walking from school. Children without shoes will need to be left behind with another class.

If you do not wish your child to attend a Dressing of the Tree service please let your classroom teacher know.

Author Visiting Pirongia Syndicate

We are very lucky to have Judi Billcliff coming to do a poetry performance for the Pirongia Syndicate on Monday the 2nd of December. Lila R, a Year 3 in Kowhai 4 won a competition to have Judi come into her class and school for the morning to share her skills and knowledge.

Judi is a Hamilton based author, performance poet and drama teacher who visits schools all over the country with her books and poetry. Her latest book is a collaboration with well known Kiwi illustrator Deborah Hinde titled 'Scary Tales - Rhymes for Brave Children,' which she describes as nursery rhymes modernised with a slightly spooky feel. The competition that Lila entered was to celebrate Scary Tales.

Following the Pirongia Syndicate poetry performance, Judi will work in both Kowhai 4 and  Karaka 15, the classes of Lila R and her sister Preya R.

Cans For Good Mufti Day

Our Cans For Good mufti day is this Friday 6th December.

This is a Mufti Day with a difference, so instead of bringing coins, please bring along a can of food that we can donate to the Salvation Army. Come along wearing your mufti and bring a can of food to the TCC. However our students going to the Road Patrol Fun Day must come dressed in their school uniform. Thank you for your support.

Road Patrollers Fun Day

Our fantastic Road Patrollers and bus monitors are going on their fun day next Friday. We want to pass on a massive thank you to the team of 25, who keep our students safe.

Tamahere Model Country School Golf Day - Friday 6th December

We have our fingers and toes crossed for wonderful weather for our annual Golf Day.
