Week 10 Term 2 2018

posted Jul 5, 2018, 6:42 PM by Reception @TMCS

Thank you all for your contribution to what has been a wonderful Term 2!  We are well and truly into winter now and though it has been cooler, haven’t we been fortunate to enjoy some lovely days? Many of these have been well timed for Education Outside the Classroom activities, including our Maungatautari Syndicate’s Winter Sports Tournament last week, and earlier in the term our Pirongia Camps.  All of our wonderful EOTC experiences are only made possible through dedicated staff organisation, and you, our incredibly supportive parents and caregivers.

Looking ahead to Term 3 - we are in for an exciting time of learning and creativity with the Arts focus overlaying our literacy and numeracy. All three of our Syndicates will be performing shows for you, with Pirongia and Maungatautari performing towards the end of Term 3 and Taupiri performing in Term 4.

Winter Sports Tournament

Last Friday on the 29th of June the Maungatautari Syndicate went to a winter sports tournament that included Basketball, Hockey, Netball, Rugby and Soccer.

The sport I played was soccer. My team didn’t do very well as we lost most of our games but that’s not what it’s about.

We played Newstead, Matangi, Knighton, Hillcrest, Marian, Silverdale and Tamahere. The sports tournament was split up into different places. Soccer, Rugby and Basketball were played at the Waikato University, Netball was at Knighton Normal School and Hockey was at St John’s.

It was a great day and we all had a fantastic time.
