The Mauri of Pirongia

What a wonderful performance! If you have not yet seen our Pirongia Syndicate’s presentation of “The Mauri of Pirongia” written and directed by Mrs Stacey Yuen - don’t miss out!  Try and catch it this evening. The story follows the tale of Pirongia and how the impact of humans and predators changed the native population. It also celebrates the recent release of kokako back to the mountain. Both matinees have been outstanding and audiences from young Li’l Pumpkins and all of our students, through to our elder Tamahere Eventide neighbours have been blown away by the powerful message and the focus, confidence and ability of our Year 3 & 4 students. A great message delivered in Maori in our Maori language wiki.  “Tō tātou taiāo. Tō tātou hītori. He tāonga tūturu nō Aotearoa. Maioha rawatia. Poipoia rawatia. Tukua!”

“Our nature. Our History. It’s New Zealand’s unique legacy. Enjoy it. Enrich it. Pass it on.”
