School Uniform Reminder

posted Apr 11, 2018, 4:52 PM by Reception @TMCS   [ updated Apr 11, 2018, 7:10 PM by Lisa Boyd ]

This week’s cold snap has seen an increase in purchases of warmer items of school uniform from our office.  Most items are held in stock and we encourage families to pop in to purchase snuggly garments for the coming winter.  When we return to school after the holidays, we expect all children to be wearing the correct school uniform outlined below:

Base Layers

Children are able to wear base layers in Terms 2 & 3 only.  These base layers need to be in a solid/plain, black, white or same-green colour, so as not to detract from the look of our smart uniform, both for arms and legs. i.e. faded or discoloured cottons etc may be deemed unsuitable.

Sock colours can include the same-colour green as well as the solid / plain black and white options.

Hair Ties

Hair ties must be simple and plain. These can be black, white, yellow, and same green. On Whanau Fridays and when our colourful Whanau shirts are being worn the more ornate hair bows and regalia may be worn.

Shoes may be a personal choice as long as they are sensible practical shoes, not heels and high-boots, except for gumboots. Low ankle boots are acceptable.

Beanies and Jackets

School beanies are available from the office for $20, jackets are available for purchase for $60.  Please remember that only uniform regulation beanies and jackets may be worn at school.

Change of Clothes

As we come back for Term 2, anyone playing sports on the back field will need to bring a change of clothes for the lunch hour and then change back into their uniform at the conclusion of lunch.

New Items for Order

Our new merino jersey is available along with a second version of track pants (oxlan polyester, near waterproof) by order only.  These will not be held in stock so if you are keen to purchase items, please visit the office as soon as possible to allow time for ordering and delivery.

Sports Uniforms

These are only to be worn at sporting events or practises.  Please ensure your child has the correct shorts and shirt for the school day.

Year 6 Students

With three quarters of the year still to go, we expect all Year 6’s to be role models wearing the correct uniform as they will still have plenty of wear from any items purchased this year.

Old Uniform Items

We have new old style polar fleeces ($10) and vests ($5) available for sale, which can be worn until the end of the year.

There are old style Whanau shirts (limited sizes and colours) also available for $10.

Facebook Page

A group of parents have created a Facebook page for the sale of second hand uniforms for our school.  As we don’t deal with second hand garments at our school office, we encourage families to visit this page - a great way to get some quality items at a reduced price.

We expect all children to wear the school uniform with a sense of pride and we appreciate your support with this important matter.  From next term, any

students not wearing correct uniform will bring home a slip regarding this.
