Return of Library Books: All library books need to be returned by today for stocktaking. The library will be closed for stocktaking Week 8 & 9. Opening again for Week 10.

Tamahere Model Country School Library Summer Reading:

The School Library will be open to parents and students (Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 &  Year 5) during Week 10:

  • Monday 16th December 8.00am-3.30pm

  • Tuesday 17th December 8.00am-12.00pm

  • Wednesday 18th December 8.00am-3.30pm

  • Thursday 19th December 8.00am-12.00pm

Parents and students (Year 2, 3, 4 and 5) will be allowed to issue up to 12 early chapter or senior fiction books for reading over the summer holidays. A parent must sign a permission form for issuing over the summer. These are available from the library.  Your child will need your signed permission to issue books for the summer holidays. Students are advised to bring a cloth bag if they can.

I will be available at the above times to help choose books and give advice on what books your child/children might like to read.

Read about the summer slide by clicking on the link.

Research shows how dramatically students’ academic achievement can be impacted by not reading over summer. Summer reading is important to prevent this summer slide.
