Kids 4 Kids Enjoyed By All!

On Tuesday evening a number of children from the Pirongia and Maungatautari Syndicates took to the stage at the Activate Church in Hamilton, as part of World Vision’s Kids for Kids Choir.

Singing alongside New Zealand’s own Jackie Clarke, along with choirs from five other Hamilton schools, our Tamahere students shone!  A range of songs, both modern and some old favourites, interspersed with anecdotes from Jackie Clarke, kept the audience tapping their feet and entertained for the entire evening.

The students have been meeting with Miss Parker over the past few weeks to learn not only the lyrics of all the songs, but how to sing together as a choir.  Children were given the opportunity to audition as soloists and also ukelele players.  Grace J was chosen out of a number of talented singers to perform with Jackie Clarke.  Her voice and performance were outstanding!  A group of Tamahere students also wowed us with their ukulele skills.

The aim of the Kids for Kids choir is for our school and wider community to be made aware of the support that World Vision provides to vulnerable children around the world.  This year World Vision are creating change for children in Luguru Tanzania.  Their aim is to provide access to clean water, food to families, prevent diseases, and education for children.  It has been our privilege to be involved in Kids for Kids Choir this year to help support World Vision.
