Innovative Learning Environment (ILE) and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Night

Thank you to all those who came along to our ILE / BYOD information evening last Wednesday.

This was the first opportunity for many, to be exposed to the ILE concept that the Government are rolling out across all schools in the country. Our Senior Syndicate classes will be modified over the summer holidays to provide extra space and to create a more modern, flexible and collaborative learning and teaching environment for the 5 classes. Next year we will still have 5 groups of students placed with their Guardian Teacher but the students will be working flexibly within a 2 and 3 class learning environment, as well as a whole team of 5 collaboration.

Class placement will be different next year as students will move fluidly between all 5 teachers and with different groups of students, depending on a variety of needs and strengths, both academic and social.

It was great to have a packed audience fill Manuka 16 for this sharing of information. Parents who have missed this opportunity or who would like to know more are invited to a catch up session next Tuesday 17th November from 1:30 - 2:30pm.

Further information about BYOD for 2016 will be sent to Year 4 and 5 parents shortly, including purchasing options, recommendations and FAQ.
