Huge Thanks to Dad's Army

posted Nov 17, 2016, 4:29 PM by Reception @TMCS

How do we begin to thank our amazingly dedicated group of Dads, affectionately known to us as “Dad’s Army”, for their incredible efforts for our school?  There are times when words don’t seem to suffice, but please do know we hold you in the highest regard!

Dad’s Army spent last weekend lining and rejuvenating our storage shed on the back field to now be a clean and very functional storage space that can be fully utilised.  As many of you will be aware, we are very short on space so to now have this shed lined, we can make best use of it.

We extend our very grateful thanks to Paul Hayes of Roommate Cabins NZ Ltd for his most generous donation of lining materials to make this project possible.  Thank you Paul for the many ways you have supported our school over the years and for continuing to share your skills and talent, along with generosity, with us!

Who are Dad’s Army?

The Dad’s Army team are a welcoming bunch of Dads of the school and our local Tamahere community.  They meet together to work for the good of our school, saving us significant costs so that money can be otherwise directed within the school.  Throughout the year they undertake projects around on our grounds and enjoy a mix of getting stuck in to make very real improvements, while enjoying a real sense of camaraderie along the way.  If you are a Dad looking to help out on a practical level and would enjoy the social interaction which is a highlight for those involved , please think about joining the team.  If you are interested in joining or finding out more information, please contact the school office and they’ll add your name to the list and a member of Dad’s Army will be in touch.
