Go the Black Caps!

We are enjoying a special celebration day today to celebrate the Black Caps achieving the Final of the World Cup Cricket 2015. What an outstanding achievement! It is also to show our pride in being New Zealanders and to wish the team well for the final on Sunday. It is great to see so many children dressed for the occasion even with such short notice - thank you!

We have 3 mini tournaments going today - each Syndicate will be involved in playing cricket. Mr Wickens has mown 5 cricket pitches on the back field which have been named after our New Zealand pitches - Eden Park, Seddon Park etc. The School Council have organised the event and will be selling ice blocks at lunch time to add to the festivity of the occasion.

Monday morning
We realise that many children may be awake very late for the televised final and although we can’t start late due to so many parents needing to get to work, students who have been up late may have a sleep in. Please don’t rush them if you have all been up enjoying the Cricket. Let them sleep. Rather than everyone dribbling in during the morning we are happy to have three starts to the day on Monday; 8:30 am, 10:15 -10:30 am and 12:15 - 1pm. If your child/ren are arriving after 8:30am, please just let us know with a phone message, email, web page response or text to 022 140 3689 what time your child will be arriving at school and sign them in at the office when they arrive.

Go Black Caps!
