Fete de la Musique

posted Jun 17, 2015, 7:33 PM by Reception @TMCS

Today we all enjoyed a musical lunch with a whole range of our music students playing for the crowd outside as they ate their food. This annual event is part of World Music Day which was conceptualized in France, firstly as an all-night music celebration to mark the beginning of the summer solstice, 21 June. The first Fête de la Musique took place in 1982 in Paris and has now become an international phenomenon. It is celebrated in 110 countries with the purpose to promote Music, so we have got involved as well. Well done to all of our talented musicians who gave us a wonderful street concert.

On Sunday 21st June, a group of our guitar and ukulele players will play at Westfield Chartwell, in the Ukulele Orchestra playing at 10:45am, the Junior Guitar Band at 11:10am; and in our Guitar Band 4, at 12:30pm.
