EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) Health & Physical Education

§  Whanau Tabloids- Working together as a team from across all ages of our school led by our new Whanau Leaders and Deputy Leaders. Friday 16th February.

§  Swimming:- This term all of our students will be involved in swimming tuition in their classes on a regular basis. All of our teachers have been involved in swimming professional development over the holiday break using our wonderful new Vela Pool Complex.

§  St Peters Swim School:- We have over 130 students enrolled at the St Peters Swim School, operating out of our Vela Pool Complex after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Please click here for details. There will also be a tab on our website shortly for you to use.

§  Swimming Sports:- This year we are delighted to be able to use our own Vela Pool Complex for all of our school and inter school events.

-         Competitive Swimming Sports – for confident > 25m + swimmers – Wednesday 28th February

-         Non Competitive Swimming Sports – for our developing swimmers Thursday 1st March

-         Taupiri Syndicate swimming display Friday 2nd March.

-         South East Hamilton Country Cluster Swimming Sports – 20th March, for selected competitive swimmers.

-         South East Hamilton City Cluster Swimming Sports – 29th March. For our very top swimmers to compete in.

§  Cricket and Touch Rugby: Thanks to Ms Hawthorn and a team of parent managers and coaches we have 8 Cricket and 6 Touch teams in the respective Inter Schools competitions this term.

§  Water Polo & Track Cycling:- These two opportunities may be available to our students depending on demand and parent support. If you are interested in these options please contact Mrs Bridget Hawthorn or Mrs Ann Marie Copponi.

§  Other PE Activities involving small ball skills, coordination and fitness will be undertaken across all areas of the school.

§  School Triathlon:- This fun event with students competing individually but also in teams, will be held on Monday 26th March.

§  Senior School Camp:- For the first time our Maungatautari Syndicate will be enjoying their Camp experience in Taupo at MiCamp – with Pukatea Pod heading away in Week 6, 6-9th March and Te Akatarere Pod heading down in Week 7, 13-16th March.

§  Taupiri Syndicate (Yr. 1 & 2) will be visiting Hamilton Gardens as a full Syndicate Day Out experience on Thursday 15th March.

§  Pirongia Syndicate (Yr. 3 & 4) will be visiting Mystery Creek Historic Village on Monday 19th and Wednesday 21stMarch.
