Country Cluster Cross Country at Newstead

posted Sep 5, 2017, 7:10 PM by Reception @TMCS

Fantastic summer sunshine greeted about 60 year 4, 5 and 6 runners from Tamahere school along with children from other local country schools.

Everyone was excited and keen to walk the course checking for rabbit holes, cow pats and muddy sections! Definitely a good cross country course over farmland and finishing in the back of Newstead School. Year 4 girls started racing first. Dane from Sports Waikato helped energise runners by warming them up at the start line.

Well done to all our runners for a great effort. Your training paid off and you all finished the race.

Thanks to all the parent helpers who volunteered as course marshalls, we can't run events like this without you. Great to see and hear so much supportive cheering for all our Tamahere students - thank you to our whanau for your positive cheers

Thanks to Ms Copponi and Mrs Hawthorn for organising our school cross country and following races giving students opportunities to reach their personal goals as well as representing our school.
