Cohort Entry - Please Have Your Say... Again :)

posted Sep 13, 2017, 9:16 PM by Reception @TMCS

With the recent changes to the Education Act, Schools may, from July 2017 bring students into school in groups (cohorts) rather than have New Entrants arrive on their 5th Birthday.

This is is quite a change and we are keen to have your feedback. Our staff have discussed the pro’s and con’s at some length. The new legislation allows for students to be enrolled at the start of each term and parents choosing, up to 5 weeks, whether they want to start their child a bit earlier or a bit later than your child’s 5th Birthday. No child in New Zealand has to be enrolled fully before the age of 6 and this law still stands.

Please click here to complete this short survey. This survey has a short completion date with responses due by next thursday 21st September.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Introduction of Cohort Entry.
