A Wonderful Gift to Others

posted Nov 12, 2015, 2:19 PM by Reception @TMCS

We were so impressed last week with an amazingly  generous donation towards our new swimming pool. It was the very special and selfless nature of this donation that created the lump in the throat. Douglas W., one of our Year 3 students asked his  friends coming to his 8th birthday party not to bring gifts but to instead bring a donation for our new swimming pool. To think of others, and the greater good, before his own wants was an exceptional thing to do. We are absolutely blown away by Douglas and his friends donation of $200.

“Douglas, what an amazing Young New Zealander you are and how fantastically you have shown our Vision.

Kia atawhai aa mua - Kia tipu ngatahi

Nurturing our future - Growing together

·    Kia Kotahi - Together as One! - Caring and supporting the whole school team ahead of your own birthday gifts.

·    Kia Manaaki - Honour Be Your Guide – Showing how you respect others and think of them ahead of yourself. Not just talking about it but actually doing something about it.

·    Kia Maia - Confident - Can Do Positive Attitude – Having such a wonderful positive attitude and outlook on life.

We are all so very proud of you. Thank you very much!”
