Tamahere Tornadoes

posted Sep 5, 2017, 6:47 PM by Reception @TMCS

Our hockey team, the Tamahere Tornadoes have had a great season this year. We came 2nd out of 48 teams. We worked hard and tried our best, we enjoyed playing together. Our last match the final against Southwell was an exciting game, with each team trying their best and fighting hard for the ball. Unfortunately we lost, but we did the best we could. We think Southwell played well and deserved to win the Milne cup.

A huge thanks to our coaches Debbie Spice and Marc ter Beek. They have been amazing and put up with us for 2 whole terms. We have learnt a lot from them and our hockey skills have progressed and gotten better. Our team has really bonded well and we know how each other play and have made up some of our own strategies. We have had fun along the way as well with whipped cream fights and funny moments.

Lots of teams put up a big fight so it was quite an achievement to get into the finals. We could never have got through the season without the support and help of parents, coaches and managers.

Most of us are looking forward to playing hockey next year at Tamahere Model Country School.

Our team players are Gemma, Luke, Samantha, Iona, Daniel, Sienna, Max, Zoe and Samara.
