HI All,

We are nearly halfway through the year! And Term 2 is shaping up to be a busy one!

Up and coming:

Grandparents’ day:  Monday June 20th, with rolling morning tea from 9.10am, grandparents and special guests are invited to cup of tea and coffee prior to the special assembly.  Taupiri parents are providing the rolling morning tea, please note: all children will be sharing their morning tea with their guests (this is to ensure more time with their guests showing them around their classroom and school), so if you could please have a little extra in your child’s lunch box that would be appreciated.

School Disco: Thursday 23rd Futuristic!  We need helpers on Thursday morning (23rd) with the setup and decoration of the TCC, please feel free to pop over after school drop off if you are able to assist.

Mid-winter festival/dip: June 26th, this is fast approaching, the PTA will be putting a team forward and I’m sure we can encourage the BOT, Dad’s army and teachers to take up the challenge also. This is a great fundraising opportunity for our school pool. If you are entering a team you need to have registered by the 23 June, forms to the office or register online with ‘Eventbrite'.

Girls night:  to be held in Term 3, an exciting opportunity for small local business to showcase themselves over an evening of bubbles and nibbles to the woman in our community. More information regarding how to register your interest will be sent out shortly.

Special requests:

Over the winter we may have several wet weather lunchtimes and often the children are in their classrooms, if you have any board or indoor games you would like to donate to the school , please drop them off to the office, thank you in advance.

As you may be aware Tania Sherwin has resigned as Chairperson of the PTA. During Junes PTA meeting Debbie Spice and Belle Woods were elected Chairperson and Vice Chairperson respectively. I’d like to thank Tania Sherwin for her contribution and continued support of the PTA.

We are currently looking to fill the position of secretary as this is open, please all who are interested contact for more information

Other news:

The PTA have  purchased a floor rug for the children in Harekeke 18, a well needed resource to keep “seats” warmer and more comfortable over these chilly months.

PS don’t forget Teachers Only Day Friday, might be an opportunity to take the family to the Field days.

Have a great week everyone.

Debbie Spice
