On Tuesday the 21st of March, the middle team will be visiting our mountain of Pirongia. The purpose of this trip is to gain a better understanding of our place and tie in with our science living world unit. We are going to look at what it means to be a ‘Kiwi Guardian’. In conjunction with DOC and Toyota, the children will be able to earn medals for their efforts on learning about, promoting and helping to protect our NZ treasures.
We will be travelling from school to Pirongia, leaving the school at 8.45 am and returning around 2.20 pm. Because we are travelling by bus we ask that all children arrive at school early on that morning so the buses can leave on time. If you arrive late you will miss the bus.
We will require parent help for this day to be a success. If you are able to help, please indicate on the form below. The parents who are able to help, will need to meet us at school before carpooling to Pirongia Forest Park Lodge as there will not be enough room on the buses for everyone. We do have 13 spaces available on the buses for adult helpers and will need 12 adult helpers to carpool.
Children are to wear their school uniform, school hat and wear good walking shoes. Please ensure your child has plenty of food and drink, and that sunscreen has been applied in the morning.
Please follow this link to the full notice including the Permission Slip to print and return if your child has not brought this home to you.
