It’s not every day that you get to see and feel a real life Olympic silver medal and ask an Olympic medal winner any question you wanted.
Tanekaha 12 and a few of the Pirongia Syndicate classes were lucky enough to experience just that. Thanks to Madison F, Terina Te Tamaki came to share her incredible journey to the Rio Olympics and show off her hard earned medal.
Terina was a member of the New Zealand Women’s Sevens Rugby Team who won silver at the Olympics. Terina shared her inspiring story of being the youngest in the team and the training and dedication it took to get to Rio. Terina happily shared her experiences and answered numerous questions from a very enthusiastic and interested group of middle school children.
Thanks to Terina for visiting us, we loved listening and learning from you. Thank you also to Chris and Madison F for sharing your friend and organising the visit.
