Netball 2017

posted Mar 5, 2017, 2:08 PM by Reception @TMCS

The netball season begins next term. It is open to all girls from Year 1-6. Year 1 and 2’s  participate in the Future Ferns Programme (5 aside) which runs on a Wednesday afternoon from 4-5 pm. Years 3 and 4’s also participate in the Future Ferns Programme.  It is  run on Saturday afternoons following the Senior and Year 4-8 Junior grades. Approximately start time 2.30pm.  Year 5 and 6’s play 7 aside netball on a Saturday, any time from 8.30 am - 2.30pm. All the games are played at the Cambridge Netball Centre.

Year 5 and 6 girls can choose to trial for a competitive  team or go straight into a less competitive, social team.   Please indicate below if you wish to trial for a team.  The girls will be notified in the next few weeks if trials are needed (depending on numbers) and when they will be held.

The Year 1-4 Teams will be of mixed ability. These children have the chance to put down the names of two friends who they would like play with and we will try to put them in the same team as at least one of their nominated friends.

Fees will be $60 per child for Years 3-6 and $40 for Years 1-2. These can be paid on registration. This covers the cost of association fees, new uniforms, bibs, balls, kit bags etc. In addition to this we are asking for a $20 bond for the uniform. (Not for Year1-2’s). Uniforms will be handed out at the end of the term or at the beginning of next term. Year’s 1 and 2 will just play in their school uniform polo shirt and black shorts.

We will  need a coach, a manager  and an umpire  for each 7 aside team.Teams cannot be registered without all of these. Can you please indicate below if you are available for this. Every team must supply an umpire every week. This cannot be the coach, but can be any willing parent/ older sibling etc. You will be umpiring your own game. The Centre will be running evening umpire classes in March, please check the website for details.

Future Ferns Teams need both a coach and a manager. No umpire is needed. Coaches are encouraged to attend a skills session on the 9th April if they haven’t coached before. The details are on the website.

Check out the Information page on the Cambridge Netball website. It has details of all the season dates, umpire training and coaching courses .

Can this form be back at school to the office by Monday 13th  March

Thank you,
