Mufti Day - Uniforms for Cambodia

posted Aug 28, 2016, 3:20 PM by Reception @TMCS

A teacher from Horsham Downs school is going in the September school holidays along with 5 other teachers to train Cambodian school teachers.  In Cambodia, children must wear uniforms to go to school .  A uniform costs $14 for each child (includes a white shirt, trousers or long skirt).   The parents of these children are working in the rice field earn only $1 a day  - that's about $360 (US) a year to live off.

We are going to have a mufti day to raise money to help buy school uniforms for children in Cambodia. The kiwi team going in September school holidays are hoping to buy 140 uniforms for 140 children.  140 uniforms x $14 = $1960.

Do you think all of us at Tamahere School could help buy some uniforms? Please bring in a gold coin donation on Wednesday 7th September (week 7) when you wear your SPORTY mufti clothes.
