Plastic Free July

Challenge yourself and your family to go plastic free this month.  Plastic free July is a global challenge where millions of people around the world give up single use plastic for the whole month. The purpose is to raise awareness around the use of plastic and encourage people to actively make a difference. What lasting changes can your family make in their use of plastic?

Here is an interesting article about Boomerang bags now out in Hamilton.

Holiday Challenge from Department of Conservation

Kākāpō t-shirt design competition

Entries close 28 July 2018

The Kākāpō Recovery Programme is joining FLOAT (For Love of All Things) to create a new kākāpō t-shirt to raise money and increase awareness about kākāpō.

We would like New Zealand kids to come up with the design. For every shirt sold, $10 will go towards protecting kākāpō.

There are plenty of prizes up for grabs, including Kākāpō Recovery adoption packages for the winner and school with the most entries!

Check out the Kākāpō Recovery education resource to learn about this amazing bird and for some design inspiration!
